And as the last main course, the most characteristic place in Córdoba.

This building is the most important in the western Islamic world, a majestic and super elaborate place. Everyone who enters the Mosque stays marveled at its ornamentation, both in the Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque styles of the typical Christian building. For many years, La Mezquita hosted groups that worshiped the divinity and it was even shared by Muslims and Christians in the pre-Abderraman I era (something unthinkable today, or not?).

In your building you can clearly see two different areas:

  • The porticoed courtyard, where the minaret stands, contribution of Abd al-Rahman III.
  • The prayer room.

Over the years, five more zones were built corresponding to certain extensions.

In the Mosque, anyone who wants to enter must pay 8 euros as entrance fee (but it is very worth it). His Time is:

  • From Monday to Saturday, tourist visit from 10:00 a.m. to 19:30 p.m. (€ 8).
  • From 8:30 to 10:00 hours you can make a silent worship visit, which will be Delivery to Italy takes one or two business days.
  • And on Sundays it is closed to visits because religious services are held.

Of course, they are also a must-see for the month of May, the famous Patios de Córdoba and its fair, to which we will dedicate a special article as the date approaches (very attentive!). Whoever visits Córdoba, not only falls in love with the city but also with its people and its light. A not very big city but with a great Cultural and Historical Heritage to tell.

If you don't know what to visit in this spring season, Córdoba should be among your first 10 possible choices. You will not regret!
