Cies Island

Surely we have already seen some of the major cities in Europe. France, London or Madrid are among the most visited. They are the typical common destinations that everyone visits as soon as they get the chance. But in Europe there is much more. Destinations that we sometimes forget, cities full of history and interesting corners that have a lot to tell, different cultures and a lot of entertainment.

These are called emerging European destinations, because there are those who have noticed them and realized that they have a lot to offer when it comes to being visited. They do not have great monuments or they have appeared countless times on postcards, but they surely have many things that make them special. They are ideal destinations especially for those who do not like places that have already been heavily exploited by tourism and are full of people. This new year can be one of the purposes to discover these emerging European destinations.

Win

This city is located located east of Moscow. It is on the banks of the Volga River, and they are of great importance due to their location, for trade between the East and the West. It is one of the oldest cities in Russia, so it will undoubtedly have a lot to offer in terms of history and ancient buildings. The Kazan Kremlin is one of the most interesting places, made up of several buildings, such as the Cathedral of the Annunciation, a XNUMXth century church. Also noteworthy are the Söyembikä Tower and the Kul Sharif Mosque. In order to enjoy a bit of shopping and current culture, you can stroll along Saint Petersburg Avenue or the Kremlevskaya.

Malaga in southern Spain

Málaga

The city of Malaga is in the south of Spain, and it certainly doesn't get as many visits as Seville or Cordoba, but it also has great things to offer. I know located on the Costa del Sol, so the beach is insured, but it also has cultural tourism. The Alcazaba of Malaga or the Roman Theater are two of the essential visits in this entertaining city on the coast.

Salerno in Italy

Salerno

Salerno is another of those Italian cities where one could stay and live quietly. It should not be confused with Palermo, since the names are similar. Salerno is in the well-known Amalfi coast, in southern Italy. In it we can enjoy a coastal city, with a beautiful promenade, but also with its old area, with places like the Cathedral of Il Duomo. Via Dei Mercanti is the medieval quarter, of great beauty and with old buildings. This street in the old town is also full of entertainment venues, such as shops and restaurants, and we can also relax in the city gardens such as Via Comunale.

Kiev in Ukraine

Kiev

The capital of Ukraine is another of those destinations that may be new for many this year. A discovery in one of the Oldest cities in Eastern Europe. It has a beautiful old town and many places to see, despite the fact that a large part of the city was destroyed in World War II. One of the things not to be missed in the city is the Mikhailovsky Cathedral or, if it is easier for you, the Monastery of St. Michael with the Golden Domes. You will realize that this name comes from those beautiful domes, which are even exotic for us. There are other beautiful religious buildings, such as Saint Andrews Church or Saint Sophia Cathedral, all very different from the buildings we are used to.

Galicia in northern Spain

Galicia

Galicia is not a city but an entire autonomous community, and it has many corners to offer. We did not choose each other to talk about Rías Baixas or Santiago de Compostela, where all the pilgrims go. Thanks to these two areas, Galicia has experienced an increase in the number of people who go to visit it. During the summer it is possible to enjoy the beaches along the coast. Famous are many of the Rías Baixas, such as those of Porto do Son or Ribeira. Another thing that should not be missed is seafood, and it is one of the great delicacies of its gastronomy. During the summer we can find countless gastronomic festivals throughout the Galician geography to enjoy its best dishes.

On the other hand, if we are looking for a destination in the city, we must visit Santiago de Compostela, with its beautiful old town, where the Cathedral with Obradoiro Square and that of Quintana. Around there are countless cobbled streets to walk. We will also find interesting things in other cities, such as in Lugo, with the famous Roman wall, a World Heritage Site, or in A Coruña, with the oldest working lighthouse in the world, the Tower of Hercules.

Malaga does not receive as many visits as Seville or Córdoba? I assure you that in Malaga there is a lot more tourism than in both. (By the way, long live Córdoba, Seville and Malaga)
