Portugal and its beaches, a summer destination

Between June and September in Portugal it's summer and that's when thousands of tourists come from the coldest regions of Europe looking for sun and heat. Portugal is a great destination for the summer holidaysespecially the coast. The Portuguese coastline stretches for 850 km with a string of beaches and the most varied landscapes. You have the beaches of Porto Santo, Ria Formosa, Algarve, Madeira or Cabo La Roca, for example.

All the Algarve beaches There are several and the one you choose may depend on what you like to do the most on the beach, whether it is resting or jumping waves for example. Arrifana beach, on the Costa Vicentina, is a wild beach with a lot of waves and is at the same time one of the most beautiful and one of the most chosen. Another recommended beach is Barriga, far away but well worth the walk in the sun to reach it. The leeward area of the Algarve is the best if you are looking for calmer waters. Here you have Barril beach, a pleasure that is in front of the Tavira island. The Bay of Lagos is the owner of rocky beaches, with impressive stone arches and caves and tunnels that always become the best destination for a walk.

If nightlife is your thing because in addition to resting you want to have fun then the best beaches are Praia da Rocha, Galé or Praia da Oura, in Portimao, Albufeira and Vilamoura respectively.
