What kind of traveler are you?

type of travelers

I, who normally when I travel I do it to "feed" my life experience, I am very observant with the rest of the travelers that I meet on my way. Sometimes I smile when I see the typical man with a camera on his back, who rather than enjoy with his own eyes the beautiful landscapes and large man-made constructions, they do so mainly through the small lens of his reflex camera.

Not all travelers are the same, nor do we have the same concerns when traveling. What type of travelers are you? If you want to know, perhaps you identify with one of these.

Photography goes, photography comes

It is the typical one that we mentioned earlier in the entry of this article. They can perfectly forget the pajamas but they will never forget an extra battery for their camera. Their travel utensils are usually the following:

  • Reflex
  • Goals.
  • Tripod.
  • Filters.
  • Batteries
  • Bag.
  • GoPro (to also capture those moments when there is a little more action).
  • Laptop.

They see a photographic capture wherever they look and are always looking for the best framing, the best light and the best macro to capture.

The shopaholic

If they go to their trip with a backpack or small suitcase, they usually return with this and with a larger one that they have had to buy at their destination to be able to carry everything they have bought during the trip. It is common to see among these travelers parents (with their grown children) who cannot help thinking about them and their needs during their travels: gift for daughter, gift for son, gift for grandchildren, sheets, towels, perfumes, bags, decorative objects, etc. . They like everything!

They are always looking for the bargains and the typical of each place. More than the culturally and architecturally interesting of each destination, what interests you are its shops and street stalls.

The «cultureta»

With map in hand He goes to any destination that can teach him something. Not only travel museums and cultural houses but he also gets involved in knowing the culture and history of each place he travels.

He usually talks a lot with local people and asks about everything: from the typical gastronomy to the mysteries that surround each corner.

Some of his favorite places to visit are the cafes, libraries and tourist offices. In the cafeterias he will try to make "friends" who can tell them in the first person about the charms of the place; in the libraries you can find historical passages referring to the city; and finally, at the tourist offices they will tell you in detail (from brochures to maps with cultural tours) what you should visit to learn more and better about the site.

The Explorer

type of travelers 3

One who flee the busiest places to enter those corners that are not explored by tourist travelers. Their travel utensils they are usually:

  • Comfortable clothes and shoes (usually sports).
  • Backpack with 'snacks', juice and water.
  • Digital camera to immortalize the explored and little seen of the place.
  • Notebook and pen (traveling notebook).
  • Map.

These types of travelers will never turn to a local guide to indicate them, but will prefer to find the most interesting places on their own.

They are usually people with a adventurous and fearless character, who are not interested in the typical, but filled with experiences to tell and remember all their lives.

The stressed out

type of travelers 4

Although it is true that all of us who travel do so in part to disconnect from the routine and daily stress, there is a type of traveler, let's call him "The stressed one", which is the one that the main thing that search on his trip is disconnect and rest.

This type of traveler is very much looking for places removed from the hustle and bustle of daily life. They like nature, outdoor sports y silence. They love getting up in the morning and not listening to a single car, so they will mostly look for very secluded places, rural destinations or little houses immersed in nature.

The negotiator

The one who takes advantage of any trip to get a slice of it. It is not that he does not like to disconnect or rest, it is that he simply cannot, and even if he could, he likes to negotiate and continue to grow in his professional projects.

Although we must distinguish in this section between leisure trips and business trips, properly speaking, those who are negotiators by nature will take advantage of any leisure trips to "negotiate."

Therefore, you will not only be interested in those cultural destinations but also those destinations where the economy is on the rise and where business is increasingly diverse and related to your work theme.

Do you identify with any of these travelers? Do you think that much more prototypes of current travelers are missing? If so, I would love to hear about it, so please use the comment box. Happy weekend!
