We already know a little more about nudism so it's time to talk about the most popular nudist beach in the world. This resort it is in France, more specifically, in Hérault. It begins to develop in the '60s and competes directly with the famous Côte d'Azur and the Costa Brava.

Cap d'Adge is considered a mecca of nudist tourism. Many types of people come and many non-European tourists find that surprising. In other parts of the world, like the United States, nudism is more typical of adults and men, but here, on this French beach, there are men and women of all ages.

In Cap d'Adge, the majority are French, of course, but German tourists follow, and in much smaller numbers British and American tourists. But how is this nude beach so popular?

Cap d'Adge is about 4.5 kilometers long. It is best to go early in the morning as there are fewer people and the groups are spread out keeping their distance, something that in the afternoon is much more difficult. If you go in summer the days are longer and there is sun almost until 10 at night so there are still many people until long hours in the afternoon.

Most people are naked but some teenagers or children may be wearing swimsuits. They seem out of place, as do the curious who go for a walk along the seashore and look at the naked. Is it allowed to be dressed? It seems that not so much and is trying to be naked is mandatory.

Of course, at dinner time even people who practice nudism begin to dress. Around 8 pm many get dressed and they start going to bars or restaurants and then whoever is naked is still a bit out of tune. At the moment it is not socially acceptable to be naked on these occasions, even at Cap d'Adge.

Tips for visiting Cap d'Adge

The nude beach is over the Mediterranean Sea, South of France. It's kind of community of tourist apartments with four or five facilities located in the neighborhood or nudist district. The closest city with an airport, and for many the gateway, is Montpellier. It is about an hour from the beach. The same road signs tell you where to go.

Once you locate the nudist neighborhood, so to speak, you have to go through an office where you buy the pass. In exchange, you are given a card, it can be daily or for several days, depending on whether you are staying or visiting.

Sun loungers and umbrellas are rented. Nearby there are kiosks and a shopping area where you can always go to buy food and drink or eat out. There are many restaurants, French, Mexican, French food, pizzas, etc. Everything to walk naked, yes. And if you stay in a hotel, then you walk naked from here to there.

One of the best known complexes in Cap d'Adge is Heliopolis. Around there is a group of restaurants, clubs and shops. Another complex is Port Nature, less flashy but with a special club for gays and lesbians. It is on the west side of the first and there are also shops and restaurants.

Port-Arbonne is another complex located next to Heliópolis. It has bakeries, shops, kiosks, after-hour bars and a couple of restaurants. On the other hand, although there are several hotels the only hotel within the nudist sector is the Hotel Eve.

Although the bulk of the accommodation offer in Cap d'Adge are apartments for rent, with kitchens, most tourists prefer to eat out since there are many restaurants and the variety of menus and prices is good and reasonable. You just have to walk and compare.

In stores you can buy beach clothes, summer clothes, fabrics, accessories. Also there are massage parlors, waxing and mini spas. Of course, everything opens in the afternoon, when the activity on the beach decreases.

Finally, a place where people are naked too invites sex life. So there are clubs for everyone. Even there are swinger sites. In other words, it can be said that Cap d'Adge is a place for all tastes: for families or couples who just want to relax naked and for those who just want to have fun naked.
