Today we will know the traditional and popular customs of the Peruvian jungle, we will run into the fabulous Iquitos carnival, which is an extremely popular festival that gathers the population in the Plaza de Armas of this hot city. This carnival takes place during the month of February and is one of the most traditional and ancient festivals in the Amazon, which according to legend is the time when devils roam the area. The Yunsa, considered as the feast of the short or of destruction is a celebration that has been held since time immemorial. The objective of this holiday is to dance around a tree, and then cut it down to receive the gifts that are hung on it. Undoubtedly this festival that is celebrated today on the coast has its origin in the Andean area of the country.
