Of all the fishing villages of the Cantabrian Sea, Cudillero is the only one that is neither from the sea nor from the land, as it is located in a natural bend that gives it such a mysterious condition. What to see in Cudillero?

Despite being one of the most visited towns in Asturias, it has not lost an iota of charm. It has its origins in the thirteenth century and has always preserved that taste of salt and sea. Although it is small in size and can be completely covered in just a few hours, you will find any excuse to stay a little longer.

Plaza de la Marina and Amphitheater

As we approach the center of Cudillero, it is the first thing we see before our eyes. The nerve center and the most emblematic image of the town. It is characterized by its white houses and frames painted in varied and striking colors. In this square, you can enjoy the sea breeze and the views on one of its terraces while enjoying the rich local cuisine.

Another thing that draws attention is the way in which the houses are built in the form of an amphitheater, as if the houses were the boxes and the square itself a stage.

Cudillero lighthouse

At the end of a path that begins at the end of the Cudillero promenade, there is a beautiful lighthouse that has been guiding the boats in the area for more than 160 years.

Cudillero viewpoints route

Another of the characteristics of Cudillero is that it has a multitude of viewpoints where you can enjoy the landscape and from where you can take fantastic photographs. In order to reach all these viewpoints, Cudillero has three routes that pass through the streets of the town. If you want to do one of these routes you can go to the tourist office where they will give you a map and advise according to your interests and physical condition.

As a good fishing town, Cudillero has a really nice port where you can watch the fishing boats return home after each job.

Cliffs of Cabo Vidio

Cudillero is also home to very beautiful beaches such as El Silencio or Gueirúa, but the Cabo de Vidio cliff certainly deserves special mention. One of the most impressive capes in our geography with about 80 meters high above the sea. Cabo Vidio offers an impressive image of the sea and the surrounding vegetation.

Fifth of Selgas

This palace known as the Asturian Versailles, dating from the XNUMXth century, houses a museum inside where paintings by the painter Francisco de Goya are exhibited. Its classrooms, the library and its beautiful and well-kept gardens stand out.
