La Tête au Carré in Nice

Square-Head-Nice-2

The expression "it is a square head" was literally interpreted by the artist Sascha sosno who used it to design and build one of the strangest and most original buildings in the world: the Nice Central Library, better known by the name of Tête au Carré, square head.

With the appearance of a huge sculpture, it is actually a building that has housed, since its inauguration in 2002, three floors and the administrative offices of the library of the capital of the French Riviera. A huge 30-meter-high bust truncated by a 14-square-meter cube at the height of the mouth.

Just a five-minute walk from the port and just a little further from the city's iconic promenade, the Promenade des Anglais, this building is undoubtedly one of the most original that we can find in the city. It is located in a green area called Promenade des Arts (the passage of the arts) and you can visit the inside by paying a small entrance fee.

Inside we can enjoy the silence of a library as well as interesting painting exhibitions and other cultural activities that are held throughout the year. In addition, from its upper floor you can get magnificent views of the city,

Very interesting the cube. My metaphor is that the cube represents a hard thought but that, like the cobblestone, it forms paths. Just as a set of cells form a tissue and later an organ, in the same way a set of cobblestones form a path, in the case of the path of thought.
