The mecca for naturists and nudists from all over Europe is located in Montalivet, on the shores of the Atlantic on the French shores of Aquitaine. Naturism was born here more than 100 years ago. That small private club founded in the summer of 1905 has grown over time and today is one of the largest naturist resorts in the world.
It is called the Helio-Marine Center and is located near the estuary of the Garonne river, about 80 km northwest of Bordeaux. Every summer its facilities welcome thousands of tourists, lovers of nature, freedom and the cult of the human body as a temple of the soul.
In the hottest weeks of summer in Montalivet live more than 14.000 people, almost all of them coming from other countries in Europe and the world; In winter, on the other hand, the population is reduced to about a thousand faithful who have more than 200 hectares of pine forest and dunes overlooking the waves for themselves.
It is not just another nude beach. There are hundreds of them across the continent.
