Neuschwanstein Castle, Bavaria, Germany. Sleeping Beauty's house

Located in the German region of Fuessen, riding a Bavaria, was ordered to be built by the king LouisII in 1866, with two conditions: that the workers who participated in its construction were natives of Bavaria and the materials used almost exclusively from the region, a circumstance that was a great boost for the autochthonous art of Bavaria. Originally baptized as the New Hohenschwangau, in honor of the place where the king spent most of his childhood, the name was changed to Neuschwanstein Castle (something like "new stone swan") after the death of the monarch.

The design was carried out by the architect Christian jank with a fundamental presumption: the fortress had to evoke pure fantasy, resembling the great castles of fairy tales, and it did. Neuschwanstein It has a total of 360 rooms, although only 14 have a fully finished design. The ostentatious decoration to the extreme is carried out by the paintings and tapestries inspired by the operas of Wagner, king's favorite composer Louis ii, the large crystal lamps and the gold-plated furniture.
The castle can also boast of housing the first mobile phone in history, with a range of 6 meters, a complete electrical network, a kitchen that takes advantage of the heat following guidelines written by Leonardo Da Vinci, and unique views of the Alpes.

The aroma of fantasy and fairy tales was a success and it is that the company Disney He looked at it for inspiration from the castle of the Sleeping Beauty, in addition to having an exact replica of the fortress located in the park Disney de Paris. Years later the animation factory decided to incorporate the silhouette of the castle for the original logo of the brand.

By the way, Neuschwanstein participated in the competition of the 7 New Wonders of the World, although finally and as it happened to the Alhambra of Granada, was left out of the final list
