Portugal (Algarve): Odeceixe, one of the most interesting beaches on the Portuguese coast

Belonging to the parish of Odeceixe (Aljezur) and forming part of the Vicentine Coast, the Odeceixe beach offers tourists excellent quality river and sea beaches and enjoy a wild and peaceful environment in the northernmost part of the region Portuguese from the Algarve. This beach is reached from the top of a promontory from where it is possible to contemplate the entire coastal landscape. On the ocean side, the shoreline of the beach forms a semi-oval that forms the sandy area and, towards the other end, the Seixe River empties with its greenish waters that flow into the Atlantic.

Currently Odeceixe beach holds the precious blue flag, which guarantees the environmental quality of the place and the services offered to tourists. The beach invites you to travel and rest, although at low tide the locals advise you to be careful due to the currents that form at both ends of it. At the southern end of this beach there is an inlet that can be accessed at low tide, this beach is known by the name Adegas Beach.

Just three kilometers from the coast is the Odeceixe village, located along a hill next to the banks of the Seixe River. This picturesque village of white houses is inhabited by almost a thousand inhabitants.
