The Romantic Road (Romantic Strasse) It is the most famous and oldest tourist circuit in Germany, a route of about 400 kilometers that goes from the city of Würzburg to the town of Fussen in the Allgäu region (Bavaria, southern Germany). Since its creation in 1950, the Romantic Route has been traveled by travelers from all over the world, who have discovered the different points of their itinerary that go along the Main River to the Alps, offering nature, culture and hospitality throughout their journey. .
From Würzburg in the north to Füssen in the south, the Romantic Road offers the traveler, in addition to spectacular natural postcards, the wealth of history, culture and art of southern Germany. From north to south the landscape of your journey is constantly changing, discovering spectacular natural spaces, such as valleys, forests, meadows and, finally, the great mountains of the Bavarian Alps.
The Romantic Route passes through interesting points in Germany, such as the Tauber Valley and Rothenburg in the Nördlinger Ries region, located in the Ries crater, the picturesque regions of Lechfeld and Pfaffenwinkel in the Upper Bavarian Pre-Alps, and finally reaches the famous dream palaces near Fussen. This route is also the route of the typical festivals, since from May until well into autumn, historical festivals take place in different regions where light beer abounds, and in which open-air festivals are held and gastronomic delights are offered.
