It's a trend: artificial beaches they are gaining popularity all over the world. We can already bathe in them in places as different as Monaco, Hong Kong, Paris, Berlin, Rotterdam or Toronto. but none as spectacular and enormous as that of Seagaia Ocean Dome, in the town of Miyazaki, Japan. The largest in the world.

The Ocean Dome is part of the immense Sheraton Seagaia Resort complex. This "beach" measures 300 meters in length and 100 meters in width and has a setting as spectacular as it is realistic: a fake fire-breathing volcano, thousands of tons of artificial sand, hundreds of palm trees and the largest retractable roof in the world. the best guarantee of a permanent blue sky, even on rainy days.

Inside this pharaonic enclosure the air temperature is always around 30º C and the water temperature around 28º C. It can be said that you live here a constant and endless summer. The volcano activates every 15 minutes and spits fire every hour, while surfers can enjoy their artificial waves.

Seagaia Ocean Dome's man-made beach, which opened in 1993, has capacity for 10.000 bathers and is always crowded. Something disconcerting considering that only 300 meters away there is a real beach, although much less beautiful and spectacular.
