Playa de los Muertos, a secret beauty in Almería

beach-of-the-dead

My maternal grandparents are from Almería, a coastal coastal town in Spain that had a lot of contact with the Moors and that is why it has a very rich history. The capital is the city of the same name, in lands of Andalusia, and it is one of the great destinations of the Spanish summer. For its beaches, of course.

All the Almeria beaches They can be divided into three parts, that of the Poniente (to the west), that of the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park and those of the east, Levante. Levante runs from the border with the province of Murcia to the limit of the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park. The beach of the Marina de la Torre or the magnificent Beach of the Deads are one of the most popular beaches and there are a handful of villages where the Muslim culture is still breathed (Garrucha, Carboneras, for example).

La Beach of the Dead it is one of the most renowned nudist beaches in Spain. It is inside the Cabo de Gata Natural Park and it is really beautiful. It is located in the Levante region, near the city of Carboneras, and is the gateway to the aforementioned natural park. If you arrive by car the views from the road are beautiful and curvy. It is signposted so it is not difficult to find it. There is even parking, secluded, since the coast is reached on foot.

Once you leave the car, you walk for five minutes and you reach a panoramic point with a truly postcard image. Precious. Here is a plaque that clarifies the name of this beach in Almería, of pirates, sailors and traders dead drowned by the dangerous currents of the sea. To reach the beach you have to go down a kilometer following a path (it is not advisable to do the route at noon because the sun does not give up). There is another less steep path that is the one that should be done with bags and children in tow and another for adventurers that leaves the panoramic point and descends steeply between rocks.

Crystal clear waters, clean waters, turquoise waters, cliffs, no kiosks, white pebbles instead of sand. And naked people. Not all, but the nudism It is very well tolerated so if you decide to visit it and do not practice it, be patient. Anyway, in general, nudists stray a bit, to a small cove.
