In the surroundings of the capital of Portugal, Lisbon, there are several beaches that are popular. The beaches of Cascaias, for example, are among the most popular because they are simply beautiful, but they are not the only ones.

If you don't want something sooo popular (synonymous with massive), you can go a little further and disembark at the Troia Peninsula. This peninsula is to the south, in front of Setúbal, and to get there you must take a catamaran. This spit of land is surprising and has 18 kilometers of beautiful beaches that are a destination for rest, relaxation or a picnic with friends. There are not so many people and you can even see dolphins in the water.

La Troia Peninsula It is near the estuary of the Sado River and lives off tourism precisely because of the extension of its beaches on the Atlantic Ocean. There is a ferry connection between the city of Setúbal and the peninsula, actually two ferries: one for people and the other for cars, motorcycles and other means of transport.

Troy It has a bit of everything, its infrastructure is designed for tourism: there is a casino, some restaurants, many hotels, shops and even Roman ruins since in times of this civilization the peninsula was inhabited and was called Acalá. From this time there are old two-story houses, a necropolis and thermal baths that can be visited.

The beaches near Setúbal and the ferry are the busiest, especially in summer or on weekends, but if you walk a bit you get quieter beaches.
