Surfers only need their board, their wetsuit and good waves to enjoy life to the fullest regardless of whether it is winter or spring. If you are one of those who plan their vacations to go in search of the best waves and your body asks you for a beach next summer, don't wait any longer! Take note of the best beaches for surfing and enjoy your well-deserved free time with the best possible plan: nature, waves and surfing.

Waimea Beach (Hawaii)

Located on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, on the north shore, Waimea Beach sits in a bay at the mouth of the Waimea River and is considered the birthplace of the south.F. There this sport was born at the end of the 50s and it was the first point of giant waves to be crossed by the mythical surfers who dared. The best time to catch big waves is from November to March or April. It is there when the "big waves" are present.

Mundaka Beach (Vizcaya, Spain)

A tube wave that reaches 4 meters high by 400 long and that breaks in the Urdaibai estuary, that of Mundaka is perhaps the most famous left wave in the world. That is why the best surfers in history have ridden its waves in some of the world surfing championships that are held in its waters. On a good day there are more than 100 surfers waiting their turn in the water to catch the best wave even at the risk of this powerful and fast wave breaking their board or even worse, their back.

Unfortunately, Mundaka beach is under constant threat due to the extraction of sand to fill in other beaches in the area in summer, so the consistency of the wave has been affected.

Gold Coast (Australia)

Australia is known for being one of the most popular destinations when it comes to surfing. The Gold Coast beaches are one of the most touristy in the country with more than 70 kilometers in length. Even if there is a city called Surfers Paradise here, it's for a reason! Certain?

They say the best beaches for surfing are at the Superbank, Kirra Beach, and Burleigh Heads breaking points. For one thing, Kirra Beach may be small in size but it has challenging waves for expert surfers and smaller waves for novices. On the other hand, Burleigh Heads is known for its beautiful scenery and for having beaches with excellent surfing conditions. In fact, throughout the year, various surf and rescue competitions are held. Lastly, Superbank, the huge white sand bank off the Gold Coast of Queensland, is famous for having the longest waves and tubes on the planet and the most crowded super wave.

Lagundri Bay (Indonesia)

In the last decades Lagundri Bay has become one of the reference destinations on a trip to Indornesia for surfing. Lagundri Bay is located on the island of Nias in western Sumatra.

Following the 2004 tsunami and the following year's earthquake, there was a change in geography that caused Lagundri Bay to transform into a near-perfect wave as the reef rose nearly half a meter. Being a bay, it has two point breaks but the main one is The Point, the one that starts from the west side, which is suitable for all levels: from beginners to experts.

Here you can find a magnificent right wave throughout the year, although the best time to surf is from May to September, when the swell increases in size to almost 3 meters.

Valdearenas Beach (Cantabria, Spain)

In the Natural Park of the Dunas de Liencres is Playa de Valdearenas, which is characterized by strong waves, ideal for experienced surfers who have a good level on the board.

In Valdearenas, the waves are not always the same but depending on the weather conditions they can be softer or more collected. The most differentiated wave here is the one at the beginning of the beach but there are several peaks along it, which reaches the Mogro estuary.

Jeffrey's Bay (South Africa)

The best wave in Africa is found in Jeffrey's Bay. Here the currents from the Atlantic mix with the warm ones from the Indian Ocean, giving rise to very special maritime conditions. That is why Jeffrey's Bay is synonymous with quality surfing and the dream destination for any athlete. A very long and impressive right hand and where we have lived some of the most unforgettable moments of surfing by the hand of Kelly Slater, Jordy Smith and many others.
