He arrived at dawn on September 15 and Di Modica discovered that in that place a Christmas tree had been put up the day before, so his escape route was frustrated and the bull was left under the tree, looking like a Christmas present from the artist for New York City.
Di Modica made the bull to celebrate the determination and spirit of the American people, especially after the 1986 Wall Street crash. But the statue was removed the same day it was put up. But the people were happy with that gift and decided to place it where it is today. Artist Arturo Di Modica chose the bull as a symbol of the power of the American people. To this day it remains a symbol that many Americans like to show tourists.
