It is also certain that you will take many photographs that you will like to see later on your return, although the best photographs are those that remain in the retina of your eyes and are recorded in your memory. Do you know the Bull of Wall Street?

Today I want to talk to you about a place that you cannot miss on your visit, since tourists usually take many photographs in this place, it is also located in the financial center. I want to tell you about the beautiful Bull of Wall Street.

The bull of Wall Street

The bull seems to be about to charge, it transmits strength and courage. It is known as the Bull of Wall Street because it is located right at the end of Broadway, in Bowling Green Park. Just a few steps away you have the metro stop where lines 4 and 5 pass and you can also find the ferry stop that will also take you to the Statue of Liberty. With this I want to tell you that if you want to visit the Bull of Wall Street, you will have no problem enjoying this sculpture in New York.

It was the Italian Arturo Di Modica who made the bronze sculpture that weighs more than three tons and cost no less than 300 thousand dollars. It is a symbol of prosperity and optimism after the stock market crisis that New York suffered after 1986 and that is why it plays with the word bullish - Charging Bull- which means the rises in the stock market. For others, the bull represents the strength of the United States, the aggressiveness of the agents of the stock market and ultimately, a bull that encompasses the courage of the Americans. But the reality is that each person can feel that the bull means one thing or another.

At Christmas 1989 when the Italian decided to give this sculpture to New York City And he did it without consulting anyone and without asking permission, so what could have been considered an act of vandalism was considered an act of generosity and with a lot of symbolic value. Therefore, to the satisfaction of the New Yorkers, it was relocated. Here is the story.

The history of the bull

One of the most photographed sites in New York City is the great Wall Street bull sculpture in Lower Manhattan on Broadway. Originally, This sculpture was designed, as I have mentioned in the previous point by Arturo Di Modica and appeared on September 15, 1989 in front of the New York Stock Exchange on Broadway.

Di Modica escaped to the safety of the Stock Exchange and found out that he had a few minutes to escape after putting the bull in that location from his studio in Soho, as he did not want to ask for consent to put his sculpture which was a gift, the gifts! they should not be warned! He arrived at dawn on September 15 and Di Modica discovered that in that place a Christmas tree had been put up the day before, so his escape route was frustrated and the bull was left under the tree, looking like a Christmas present from the artist for New York City.

Di Modica made the bull to celebrate the determination and spirit of the American people, especially after the 1986 Wall Street crash. But the statue was removed the same day it was put up. But the people were happy with that gift and decided to place it where it is today. Artist Arturo Di Modica chose the bull as a symbol of the power of the American people. To this day it remains a symbol that many Americans like to show tourists.

It is a symbol and people like to photograph themselves

The people when they travel to the bull are photographed both in front and behind. But there is an interesting aspect and that is that most tourists who approach the bull like to photograph themselves next to the bull's testicles and also rub them.

Many people think - or justify themselves - that rubbing the bull's testicles is good luck. It is usually tourists from South America and Asia who are most motivated to stroke the bull's testicles.

You really have to have the willpower to rub the bull's testicles with your bare fingers, because when it's winter in New York cities the temperatures are really low, it can snow and touching the bull's bronze testicles can bring you colder. Although there are those who do it with gloves. Either way, touching something that everyone touches doesn't have to be very hygienic, so if you want to do it too, the best thing to do is wash your hands afterwards.

It is a must see

Like any other known and popular place in New York, a visit to the Bull of Wall Street is a must-see that cannot be missed on your itinerary. It is one of the best known statues in the world and that is why every day there is a queue to take a picture with the bull from the front so that the head can be seen well, on the side so that all its splendor can be seen, or from the back so that the bull's testicles can be seen well in the photograph.

So if you have to visit New York, do not hesitate to visit all its corners, its shops, its restaurants, enjoy your friends, family members if you have in this area, to know new places, to enjoy its people ... and above all to visit the bull, who most likely will be there when you arrive, patiently waiting for you to pay him a visit and take a picture with him.
