The cherry blossoms of the Jerte Valley

If there is a beautiful landscape in Spain that you should contemplate at least once in your life, if you have not done so yet, it is without a doubt the cherry blossoms of the Jerte Valley. Today I do not recommend that you travel to Paris or Rome to enjoy their monuments and typical buildings; I am not telling you that the most beautiful Easter in Spain is lived and enjoyed in Andalusia (personal opinion); My travel article today is dedicated to something simpler, more natural but at the same time, one of the most beautiful images that your eyes will be able to contemplate and I will be able to recommend you from here.

Jerte Valley, Extremadura

In the north of Extremadura we find the Jerte ValleyWhere from March 19 to March 31 of this same month, what is known there as the "Awakening of the Valley". It is at this time when we can still contemplate the snow on the highest peaks of Extremadura, at the same time we see how the river melts. After the "Awakening of the Valley" occurs what is known as the phase of "Cherry Blossom", that this year goes from April 1 to the 9th of the same month. And it is here where the beauty of the union of mountains with the cherry trees cultivated by man occurs ... Around the figure of this valley, a large number of hiking routes and excursions are made in the Jerte Valley, so it is a good way not only to contemplate the cherry blossoms but also to know the town and its people in depth.

Between April 10 and May 3 the call occurs "Rain of petals" where the region will change the white image of the cherry blossoms for the intense green of chestnut and oak trees and the violet of the heather or the yellow of the broom.

• 11:00 a.m. to 13:30 p.m. Guided Tourist Tour through Barrado and its viewpoints.
• 11:00 a.m. to 13:30 p.m. Corners with traditional prints in the streets of Barrado.
• 11:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m. Live Cooking Workshop, preparation of dishes with outstanding products from the Jerte Valley, by the Association of Cooks and Confectioners of Extremadura.

• 19:00 h. Amateur Theater. Three Stories: "The Princess Pitusa", "The consultation" y"Epitaph" (House of Culture of Barrado).
