The church where the first Catholic mass was celebrated

Popular belief says that the first catholic mass was celebrated in Santa Maria in Trastevere, in Rome. This church was founded by Pope Callisto I in the year 220. Since then Santa Maria in Trastevere has undergone many renovations but it still stands so that you can visit it when you pass through Rome.

In its successive restorations, pieces from various ruins and tombs of ancient Rome have been used: 22 columns from the Baths of Caracalla, pieces from tombs with inscriptions in Latin and Greek, marble from Roman ruins, etc. It should be noted the mosaics of Peter Cavallini, the geometric designs created on marble by the Cosmati family, and the impressive organ that is used in ceremonies.

The mosaic of Jesus and Mary sitting on the same throne, sharing majesty and power seems prophetic to me. Someday Mary and Jesus of Nazareth will be at the same height. It will be a great advance in the human relations between man and woman so deteriorated in the Christian Church, very far from what the Master of Galilee and Mary, his mother, cultivated in the first Christian Community. I would like this image to be an example and not go unnoticed. Today I see it very modern. Thank you.
