The island of Capri in Italy

La Capri island it is located south of the Gulf of Napolés and on the Sorrentine peninsula, in the Tyrrhenian Sea, Italy. It is one of the world's favorite islands with an area of about 10,36 square kilometers. It is known as the vacation and tourist spot chosen by many people since ancient times, such as since the ancient Roman Republic.

It has a small population of 1,170 inhabitants that triples thanks to these eager tourists. This Neapolitan region in which it is located is plagued by small islands, with a great variety of cultures and a great inheritance of important archaeological remains.

The city, chosen by a multitude of celebrities and paparazzi, is home to one of the most interesting squares in Europe, La Piazzetta, located in the center of the island. Here we find the tourist office, the City Hall building (next to the beach) and the fish and vegetable market. Although the square still preserves its modest architecture, in this place and in its closest surroundings we will find the most luxurious and expensive hotels, restaurants and shops in Capri.

Another place on the island is the Villa San Michele, a Swedish cultural institution that offers us a beautiful and intimate museum with a garden and a set of buildings, all houses of Swedish artists, writers and scientists, in addition to the Natural Park «il Monte Barbarossa», of special protection for migratory birds.

A small island, but certainly charming and made for the most absolute tourist, since they usually arrive in droves despite the fact that it is considered a fairly quiet city. To reach it, we can do so through the connections with ships with the ports that are located in the Gulf of Naples and on the Sorrentine peninsula.
