The scenic NC500 Route through Scotland

The famous Ruta 66 that travels the United States from coast to coast has its replica in Scotland: a scenic road that shows the traveler the most spectacular landscapes of the Highlands: the Route NC500.

It is an impressive coastal route that begins in the Scottish capital of the north, the city of Inverness, and meanders between mountains, bays and capes to the delight of drivers, cyclists and motorcyclists along more than 500 kilometers of spectacular landscapes, including places like the Suilven Mountains, the Kylesku Bridge Or the silvery waters of the Loch Druim Suardalain.

To cite some of the most notable landmarks of this wonderful route, we will highlight the brora beach from where you can see dolphins, whales and gray seals very close to the coast. Other must-see spots along the road include the top of Ben Hope and the great fairytale castle of dunrobin, without forgetting the ruins of the ardvreck castle and the fabulous Achmelvich and Dornoch beaches.

The NC500 Coastal Route, which follows the rugged Highland coastline from Inverness to the English border, has been created to showcase what the far north of Scotland has to offer to restless travelers, including local cuisine, culture, the historical heritage and the thousand and one possibilities of outdoor activities and adventure. A wonderful way to see the most beautiful and genuine side of Scotland.
