The two Statues of Liberty of Paris

Next October I will be walking through the paris streets. What a divine autumn I will have! I'm already making a list of places I want to visit and foods I want to eat. And one of the places that interest me is the Statue of Liberty which is in Paris. I know about her and a couple of days ago I saw her in a movie with Juliette Binoche, so I added her to my list.

Yes, in Paris there is a Statue of Liberty. Actually there are not one but two, but the one that interests me is the one near the river. Remember that the Statue of Liberty in New York was a gift from the French government to the United States that arrived in America in 1886. It was the brainchild of Fréderic Bartholdi. But where can I see one of the Statues of Liberty of Paris?

One of them, the one that interests me personally, is on the Ille des Cygnes, right next to the Pont de Grenelle, near the Torre Eiffel. In fact, from the top of the tower you can see this statue, if you look to the southwest. It is a tall statue, an exact replica of the one we see in the United States. Of the two in Paris, this is the largest. You arrive by metro getting off at the Javel- André CiTröen station.

Other Statue of Liberty It is in the courtyard of the Muée des Arts et Metiers, the Luxembourg Gardens. It is a bronze statue made by Bartholdi himself in 1870 as part of the creation of the larger statue. Today he adds a plaque that remembers the victims of the 9/11 attack.

The one that interests you, I discovered it in a Play Station 2 video game, Midnight Club 2, since the second scenario is a brief recreation of Paris.
