Spectacular mountains cover

Perhaps in Spain we are not lucky enough to have huge and spectacular mountains within our reach but we do have them in the rest of the world. And even if they are not an hour or two away by car, we are lucky enough to be able to see and enjoy them, even through pictures. We want you to give us your hand in this article, visit the most spectacular mountains in the world thanks to these impressive images that from Actualidad Viajes we offer you.

I have found so many so wonderful that it has been almost impossible for me to make a meager selection. But if there are several better, right?

Mount Fitz Roy

Spectacular Fitz Roy Mountains

Mount Fitz Roy is located to the east of the South Patagonian ice field on the border between Argentina and Chile, in Patagonia, nothing more and nothing less.

Almost totally covered in iceThis impressive block of stone not only amazes for its altitude and rockiness but also for the wonderful colorful pictures it offers to those travelers who can reach a few meters from it and contemplate how the light reflection varies according to the situation of the sun.

Although it is not very high, few climbers have managed to reach its top, due to the difficulty of being such a slippery terrain, with such sharp edges and due to the unstable climate.

Let us therefore leave Mount Fitz Roy as the contemplative beauty of many, safe ground for the few.

Bungle Bungle Range

Spectacular mountains Bungle Bungle

We change continent again (as you can see, the distances are not as short as we would like) and we set foot in Australia. There you can see a mountain range with a funny name and with a no less curious appearance. It is the Bungle Bungle Mountain Range, formed no more and no less than 375-350 million years ago

They are tower formations that have been acquiring the appearance of hives and as we understand they are of a extreme fragility. For this reason, climbing on them is totally prohibited.

You can contemplate them if you travel to Australia and you go into it Purnululu National Park, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2003.

Chocolate hills

If you see the image, you may understand the reason for this curious name for some hills. In the image you will not see them all, but there are more than 1.200 hills and if you want to see them you will have to go to Bohol, in the Philippine Islands which is where they are.

Its name is due to the fact that the green grass that covers the mountain turns into chocolate brown in the dry season, giving it the appearance of hundreds of ounces of chocolate scattered in just 50 kilometers.

As you can see, they are not majestic, and they impress above all because of their difference with the rest, since in height, the highest reaches only 120 meters.

Fairy chimneys

With this curious name these no less curious formations are known. We stayed in Europe and we traveled to turkey which is where they are.

Its totally vertical formations are known as pinnacles or chimneys and are formed by rivers of lava from volcanic eruptions.

As far as we know, these types of structures also occur in North America and in one place as in another, erosion has given them that lonely and remote appearance. In the Hada chimneys of Turkey, we know that centuries ago, the local monks had to carve out space between them in order to build their own houses.

Devil's Tower

Spectacular mountains Torre del Diablo

And we come to one of the ones that has impressed me the most. Isn't this training super interesting? It is a basalt monolith that was named a United States National Monument. It's found within the Black Hills, in the state of Wyoming.

It is so different from everything known! And you will be more impressed to know that its base covers a total of 5,45 square km… How long would it take to get around it?

Once again the power of nature leaves me totally stunned! And seeing this, being so coastal and so beachy, I have my serious doubts about what I would like to see on my next vacation, eh? If you do not have to choose, if you can go to both places, or if on the contrary you are more mountain than Canadians, take advantage of your days, weeks or months of vacation and escape to one of these places.

Contemplate something like that, be lucky enough to see formations so majestic and so different which we are used to contemplating, it must be quite an experience. Do not miss the opportunity if you have it and live the moment in such a unique and wonderful way as these sites themselves are. Put yourself in the shoes of those who cannot and enjoy it for us, me personally and in the meantime, I will be delighted to continue contemplating photographs as good as these.
