This town is located in the western part of the island and offers a typical picture of a small Mallorcan town.

How to get to Valldemossa

To get to the island of Mallorca it is possible take a flight that takes us to the airport in Mallorca, located a few kilometers from the capital. On the other hand, from the Peninsula there are some ferries that lead to Mallorca, although it is an option used by those who live in these areas. From other points it is always much easier to catch a direct flight to Mallorca. The capital, Palma de Mallorca, is only 20 kilometers from Valldemossa. It is reached by leaving the M-20 and taking the M-1110 road to the town. It is a really simple journey and we can go in our car if we bring it by ferry or rent one on the island.

Nowadays, it is a small city with a classic charm but that has managed to take advantage of its tourist resources without being a problem.

This is the main tourist attraction in the town of Valldemossa in Mallorca. This charterhouse is a palace that was the residence of Sancho I of Mallorca in the XNUMXth century. This is one of the most important beaches that can be visited once we get to Valldemossa. Although the city itself is located a few kilometers from the coast, it can be reached in less than ten minutes, so it is evident that another of the essential visits are the coves and beaches in the area, among which Sa Marina stands out, which is the most popular.

Chopin and George Sand Museum

During the years 1838 and 39 the musician lived in the Charterhouse together with the writer George Sand. The composer created the Preludes Op. 28 and she wrote A winter in Mallorca. In this museum you can see a piano that belonged to Chopin and also the documents and objects that they used during this stay in the Cartuja.
