Another neighborhood to sleep in Madrid very close to the center but with cheaper prices is Atocha. It is a residential area very well connected with other parts of the city by public transport and with the whole country since here is the Atocha train station, the most important in Spain. Trains abroad also depart from here to France, Portugal and Italy, among other European countries.
