Bardenas Reales in Navarra

Royal bardenas

There are those who find a special charm in deserted zones, by that nature in complete silence, the tranquility and how small we come to feel compared to huge places without vegetation and endless plains. The Bardenas Reales located in Navarra, near Tudela, are a semi-desert landscape in which to find this tranquility and the greatness of deserts. Spectacular landscapes that seem taken from Arizona or the Wild West, but not from Spain. These spaces are a protected natural park, so our visit will be much more restricted than years ago, to protect the natural spaces from the exploitation of tourism itself.

Royal bardenas

The bardenas can be visited from eight in the morning until an hour before the sun goes down. There is a visitor center where we can collect all the information or hire guides to discover the most interesting routes, since they can even be done by segway, an original mode of transport. In addition, you can visit these routes by car, from which you cannot leave, either on foot or by bicycle. One of its most mythical rock formations is the Head of Castildetierra, which almost represents the image of the Bardenas Reales. Without a doubt it is a magical and really special landscape.
