Japan is a country where mountains, lakes and forests prevail, but being a group of islands we find other types of landscapes as well. Believe it or not, there is a Tropical japan with white sand beaches and turquoise waters, where the sun shines all year round: Okianawa.

On another occasion we talked here in Beaches and Resorts about the Yaeyamana Islands, one of the most important island groups in Okinawa, but not the only ones. Another important group is made up of the Miyako Islands, located about 300 kilometers from the main island of Okinawa and only 100 kilometers from the Yaeyama.

The Miyako Islands They are the best destinations when it comes to looking for the Caribbean in Asia: coral reefs, white beaches, warm and turquoise waters, diving sites, marine gastronomy. These islands have almost no mountains or hills and are almost entirely covered by fields of sugar cane. They have few settlements but as they are so beautiful there are accommodations, bars and restaurants.

If we talk about beach destinations in Japan, then we talk about the Miyako Islands, in Okinawa. The beaches here are superb and there are mainly three: the Maehama, with seven kilometers and beautiful sunsets, the Yoshino, the best for snorkeling for its abundant marine life, and the Sunayama, with rocks and white sands. All have facilities for tourism.

The miyako beaches They are open all year round although the best season is between April and November. Of course, be careful if you go between June and October because you can be touched by a Habu jellyfish, the poisonous jellyfish that are common in Okinawa.
