Reasons to travel alone

Traveling alone

Doing an exercise of sincerity on my part towards you, our readers, I will say that I do not know very well if I write this article to convince you first, to convince myself or both. And it is that they are so doubts, so many fears when going on a solo trip that gives some qualms and respect. I repair and respect that almost always, at least as far as I'm concerned, ends in negative and in "do not travel".

And you? Do you travel alone often? I would appreciate any kind of comment on this question and if it is in the spirit to push me further, if possible, to carry out solo trips, much better ...

That being said, I have agglomerated a number of reasons to travel alone or alone; for me, for you, and for anyone who needs it as much or more than I do. Once read, I have to say that they are quite a few and very good. I leave you with them!

Reasons to travel alone at least once in your life

  • You will have a feeling of absolute freedom, never felt before.

Why? Because you should not be accountable to anyone, neither of schedules, nor of visits, nor of anything at all. You are the one who decides your times, your routes, whether to get up one day earlier or later, etc. You will do whatever you want at the time that pleases you the most.

  • You will overcome your fears and insecurities.

We already said it in the first paragraph of this article. Many times it's our own fears and insecurities that hold us back not only when traveling alone but also when doing what we have been wanting for a long time and do not dare for whatever reason. Traveling alone breaks those limitations ... Since it is an "exercise" that makes you depend solely on yourself, your ease, your ability to adapt ... What better way to break your own fears than traveling?

I think I read this point, I do not need more reasons ... But, we continue!

Reasons to travel alone

  • Your self-knowledge and self-confidence will be increased.

Being alone we will have a lot of time to think: to think about the life that we have led up to now, about the obstacles that we have been overcoming and those others that made us stumble, about the trials that we are encountering along the way that can make us lose not only the strength to keep trying but also self confidence.

This point is closely linked to the previous one. When we see that we are able to start and end a trip alone, without any help, from known company, in which we have also enjoyed, discovered new places and we have disconnected, that self-knowledge of our own person and that self-confidence they are increased by a thousand.

  • We will enjoy true and healthy "loneliness."

Many people are terrified of loneliness, being alone, ... Some are because they do not know what to do when they are bored, others because of "problems" in the past, and so on. For whatever reason, traveling alone is a good time to "rediscover" the dreaded loneliness and realize that it is not as bad as it is painted.

It is in full solitude when we will have all the time in the world to do whatever we want, since we will not have to adjust to the demands or "comforts" of another fellow traveler.

Reasons to travel alone -

  • You will live unforgettable experiences.

They say that two heads think more than one, and the fact that you go will only lead you to live totally surreal and unexpected situationsSince you will not have that other thinking head next to you that can offer you some "help" at certain times. Some may not be entirely pleasant (such as getting lost at a given moment, not finding the building or monument you wanted to visit, etc), but others will nevertheless become those. anecdotes that once you return from the trip you will remember them with a beautiful smile on your face.

  • You will only have to be guided by your tastes and preferences.

When we are going to travel in a group, we always have to adapt to everyone's tastes and preferences. I give you an example: your friend Juan prefers to stay in a hotel, while your friend Laura wants a small bungalow in the middle of nature ... But, What do you want? If you travel alone, you will only have to worry about what you want in absolutely every way: type of gastronomy, type of accommodation, type of route to visit (literary, monuments, nature, etc.).

Reasons to travel alone ..

  • Leave everything behind!

Disconnect from everything and everyone: turn off your mobile, listen to the silence and simply let yourself be carried away by what your body asks of you at all times. It is the best way to relax and disconnect from the routine that overwhelms and oppresses you. Bring a light camera, a notebook with a pen to point and little else ... May the moment you live on that trip impregnate you so much that it forces you to reinvent yourself with more energy and positivity.

There are 7 reasons in total ... They are not many, nor few, but I think they are precisely the necessary to tackle that dreaded solo trip. And you? Have I convinced you? What will your next destination be?

I have only traveled alone once, because soon after I started dating my partner and we are already on a trip together. But honestly, it is something that I recommend to everyone. Travel to Madrid, where he had never been. I slept in a shared room with other French girls who were very nice. Visit everything you had planned to visit, with an extreme peace of not having to rush or slow ... just at my own pace. Also, a grandmother in El Retiro saw me with the map and began to tell me stories about Madrid for a while and then went to pick up his grandson. There was also a day when the weather was great and I ended up lying on the grass for over an hour, and when I wanted to, I got up and left. And as for food, I ate when I was really hungry and where I saw the dish that I most wanted.
I think that if you like to travel, in general, apart from sharing trips with other people, at least once you have to go alone.
