Reasons to travel to Andalusia and stay to live

Everyone, who else and who less, we have a place to which we like to escape from time to time. We call these places our "sanctuaries", where we charge our batteries when we have them half or almost empty. They are like those corners of energy that transmit peace to us, to which we always want to return and in which, if we could, we would stay and live without hesitation.

I certainly have one of those places, and luckily for me, it matches both my place of birth and my place of residence: Andalusia. It may be a somewhat subjective article due to this fact, but few things are not… And if you don't believe the reasons for traveling to Andalusia and staying to live there, what am I going to tell you, come visit and see for yourself.

One by one, my reasons

  1. Andalusia has one of the Spanish coasts where they are much of the best beaches in Spain: the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea bathe its sands, fine and white to the west and clayey rocky to the east. Therefore, it is easy to walk around Huelva, Malaga, Cádiz (just to mention three) and get a rich smell of the sea ... For those of us who were born in the waves, having the sea nearby is like a "salvation".
  2. For the joy of its people. Because we are people with an open, pleasant and communicative character. Because if you get lost in a narrow street or you don't know where is the point where you have to go, we will not have the time to guide you and help you ...
  3. For his wonderful weatherAlthough, to be honest, in the middle of August you will have a bit of a bad time: too hot at around two or four in the afternoon. But do not worry, the nights are usually cool, especially in the coastal areas, where there is usually some marine air that brightens and refreshes the atmosphere.
  4. Because of the rich culture we have. Because there are many peoples that have passed through here (Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, ...) leaving their historical traces year after year and you would not have place even in half a year to travel from end to end all of Andalusia seeing all its magnificent renowned monuments and buildings (the Mosque of Córdoba, La Giralda in Seville, The Alhambra in Granada, etc, etc.).
  5. Because we have the opposite of the sea: also we have mountains and snow in the wonderful city of Granada. If you like skiing and snow sports in general, here in Andalusia you won't have to deprive yourself of it. You have the Granada ski resort, which year after year is filled with both its own inhabitants and tourists.
  6. Because we have living natureand Doñana Natural Park, where we can see protected species such as the lynx and many others such as flamingos and a great variety of birds, deer, rabbits, snakes, etc.
  7. The amount of pretty towns that we have so much in the area of the coastline as in the sierra. There would not be space in this article to name them all, so we invite you to visit Andalusia and discover them for yourself.
  8. For his gastronomy: Each city of Andalusia has its typical dishes of the place, and which one is richer and tastier! You cannot visit Andalusia and leave without trying its ham, its strawberries, its olive oil, its anchovies, its coquinas, its prawns, its wines ... We have many Michelin stars among us. Do you want to know some names? Kisko Garcia, Abantal, La Costa, Skina, among others.
  9. Because for having we even have a piece of desert, in the city of Almería, which has served as a location for many scenes from movies and series, such as the famous "Game of Thrones" to mention only one and current one that almost all of us know.
  10. For its magnificent sunsets, by the light in Huelva Specifically, it lasts a little longer and its pink sky when it begins to sunset is a real pleasure for the eyes. It is not because it is my city, but it has the most beautiful sunsets I've seen in my life (so far).
  11. For their fairs and parties. Because like everyone else, we also know how to have fun and we have our moments of leisure. Many of our fairs, if not most, are between spring and summer, due to the good climate. Head over to them and have fun like one more Andalusian.
  12. Because flamenco was born here, because here is his crib. And as we all know, it is a musical genre that has crossed borders, even reaching Japan. If you like flamenco and want to enjoy it, we recommend the neighborhoods of Granada or Jerez de la Frontera, in Cádiz… There you can breathe art.

Do we really have to give you more reasons to visit Andalusia? They are more than enough but they are not all! Do you dare to discover for yourself the missing ones?

If it is to visit or spend the summer maybe. But I already went to live and you die of disgust. There is no seriousness at work, there is no seriousness in anything, there is a lot of bottle and more zorron. Not suitable for those who have little money. of Europe in PISA report and region most full of thieves.

Indeed, it is very beautiful, but people are only friendly if you go as a tourist. Then they are the worst people I have ever come across. Abusive, thieves, rude, lazy. I do not recommend living if you want quality of life and tranquility.

How Andalusian the article falls short but it is normal, it cannot end so much. As for sunsets, I prefer Cádiz (its mountains and the white villages have also been missing).

Regarding the comments. To say that Andalusians are thieves and lazy seems to me to be saying a lot. I have worked with people from other regions and I have come across more thieves than here, but from there they all are…. to think that several million are like the ones we have known in a city or town is to make them look at it.

All Andalusia is beautiful since I am from there, it seems to me a great lack of respect and culture to say these things about Andalusia, here you do bottles parties events etc because you do not have to be always bitter and for a little while it is very good to disconnect and work if it is true but almost all countries are the same or worse

The people of Andalusia are unique in their treatment, happiness and communication. I was born in Madrid, and I was lucky enough to spend small seasons in Malaga with my children. That welcoming city gave me peace and everything that made us happy then….
I miss the blue of its sky and the pampering of its waters…. There would be no better place for me. If I have to close my eyes ………

I was in Seville for 8 months, and it was wonderful. Then travel around the community, which is beautiful. The thieves and that, I don't know, I didn't have those problems, in fact I think they were afraid of me, it would be because of my height .. Now I know I want to live there again, but how? I do not know if it is worth trying to find a job, if there is not for a Spanish medium as there will be for me? Here where I am I don't like it, I just don't fit in, and I feel like I'm in the same place and the years go by. I wish I had been born in Andalusia. Simply its position, geography, there is an enormous vital energy. And regarding the climate, I prefer 3 months to endure the heat than 10 cold months, and on many occasions rain and cloudiness that does not stop. I hope it moves me soon to the land that I carry in my heart - my Andalusia.
