The petrified waterfall of the Mitla Valley, in Mexico

One of the largest states of the 31 in which the Federal District of Mexico is divided is Oaxaca, located just to the south of the country and bathed by the Pacific Ocean in more than 600 kilometers of coastline. Right here is the mitla valley, famous especially for the rest of ancient civilizations that have been found there. Even so, this is not exactly the most attractive thing in the area, but it is the curious shape that you can see in the photo, known by the name of «Boil the water", a petrified waterfall which is located about 80 kilometers from Oaxaca.

Cuirosa, right? And it is that we will never tire of discovering strange places that we cannot even imagine. This cataract that seems frozen and stopped in time owes its shape to the sodium magnesium carbonate of the hot springs that we find at its peak, which over millions of years has given rise to this spectacular geological genome that today is the subject of various studies.

The name "Boil the Water" is given to the bubbling effect that we can observe in it, since its petrified waters have a high mineral content (that is exactly why they look petrified). The region has a lot of tourism thanks to it, and it is that apart from approaching to observe this rare form, we can also bathe in one of the natural pools that we find just above the mountain, although this bathroom is not suitable for people with vertigo.

Apparently, everyone recommends spending a night in the Mitla Valley, close to this waterfall, since the sunrise here is exaltedly beautiful. It's all to go and check it out, right?
