Among the most romantic corners of Lisbon, its famous viewpoints they occupy a place of privilege. Among the best known and tourist attractions are the Miradouro das Portas do Sol, the Miradouro de Santa Luzia, the Miradouro da Graça and the Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara. Located between the parishes (district) of San Miguel and Santiago, in the historic neighborhood of Alfama, in the Largo das Portas do Solo square, is the tourist viewpoint of Portas do Sol, a terrace that offers a magnificent view of the city of Lisbon on its eastern side, showing a spectacular panorama of the city and the Tejo River. Among the points of interest in this area are the Church of San Vicente de Fora and the Alfama neighborhood, which stretches along narrow and winding streets to the Tejo River.
Next to Portas do Sol, is the famous viewpoint of Santa Luzia, a terrace next to a small white church with views of the Tejo River and the roofs of the Alfama neighborhood, in a space where it is possible to sit under a pergola that offers the shade of its vines. From this point it is also possible to contemplate the domes of the Church of Santa Engracia and the Church of San Esteban. In this viewpoint, two panels of tiles stand out on its walls on the south side that recreate the conquest of the Castle of San Jorge in 1147 and the Plaza del Comercio before the earthquake of 1755.
