Vampire Café in Ginza, Tokyo

In the Ginza neighborhood in Tokyo, there is a really extravagant and terrifying place, even for a city of excesses and incredible things such as the capital of Japan. We talk about Vampire Cafe, a gothic restaurant decorated with crucifixes, skulls, cobwebs, chandeliers that even has the same coffin of the Count Dracula.

For those who are not too sensitive to this type of thing, it is a very fun visit. In the Vampire Cafe you can taste a bat wing soup or a red blood cocktail. We can choose between normal and reserved tables hidden behind heavy velvet curtains, indirect lighting and a mysterious atmosphere.

Of course the staff wears a uniform according to the theme of the place: XNUMXth century butler suits for them and Victorian maid dresses for them. all so that we feel like guests of honor at a gloomy and disturbing dinner at Count Dracula's castle.

The cuisine is a mix of European and Japanese varieties. With the baroque music playing in the background we can eat some appetizing tuna rolls that form a blood-spattered crucifix (which is nothing other than tomato), a marinated salmon served in a coffin-shaped container or some scoops of ice cream topped with a chocolate skull. The presentation is magnificent and very original, and the quality of the dishes more than acceptable.

Despite the theme, this restaurant is not a very touristy place. The website and menu are not translated, and it is difficult to find, as it is located on the seventh floor of a nondescript gray and nondescript building. Even so, it is worth visiting and getting your teeth into some of its sinister delights.
