Delhi is chaos, noise and crowds. For many, the gateway to India and, consequently, their first contact with it. Delhi has impressive forts, busy markets and grand temples as well as three sites that are on the UNESCO World Heritage list: Humayun's Tomb (a sample of Mongolian architecture considered to be the first garden tomb and the forerunner in the style of the Taj Mahal in Agra), the Qutb Complex (its most famous piece is the Qutab Minaret, the tallest in the world at 72 and a half meters high) and the Red Fort Complex (which was once a Mongolian palace).

As the capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur is one of the largest and most populous cities in northern India and one of the most photographed places in the country as it is packed with iconic landmarks, beautiful colored buildings and palaces. Jaipur has a monarchical past, so the royalty has left many buildings here that today are monuments with great tourist attraction such as the Hawa Mahal or the Chandra Mahal palace, the residence of the rulers of Jaipur since the first half of the XNUMXth century. .

The Hawal Mahal or the 'Palace of the Winds', is perhaps the most famous building in Jaipur. It was built so that the women of the harem could enjoy the parades and festivals of the city from the windows of their rooms.

During a visit to Jaipur, it is also worth visiting the bazaars that have made Jaipur so famous, divided into guilds (food, jewelry, household items ...) through streets and alleys. Impossible to get bored!

Another of the most interesting cities to see in India is Agra. Located in the state of Uttar Pradesh, it allows us to know the history and charm of India. The Taj Mahal is the greatest pride of this city and although a romantic story is planned on it, it is a funerary monument. It was raised in the 17th century in honor of the favorite wife of Emperor Shah Jahan. From the Taj Mahal we are used to seeing the image of the mausoleum with the white marble dome, but the enclosure occupies XNUMX hectares and includes a mosque and gardens as well.

Another of the most important places to see in Agra is the Red Fort, the most important fortress in India sculpted in red sandstone that was built by Emperor Akbar, father of Shah Jahan, who in turn was imprisoned by his own son here until his last days, his only requirement being to be able to see from his room the mausoleum created in honor of his wife.

Mumbai is a fascinating city to see in India. Despite its large dimensions, the old part of the city is the one that retains the greatest charm: its colonial buildings and palaces, wide avenues with street art galleries, gardens and parks full of cricket fans, the financial center or train stations World Heritage…

The Gateway of India is another one of those places that you cannot miss during a visit to Bombay, in the port of the city. It is a tourist attraction not only for foreigners but also for locals, who come here to take a photo and hang out. From this point, small tourist boats also leave for a tour of the coast and Elephant Island.

We head to the south of India, specifically to Kerala, one of the most famous states in India. It is on the west coast and it is very interesting to know it both culturally and naturally as it is full of jungles and exotic animals. In fact, the most famous experience in Kerala is the canoe ride through the Backwaters of Alappuzha or Kottayam, that is, rivers and lakes surrounded by greenery where many people live.

From the cultural point of view, Kerala is also known for hosting a multitude of temples of different faiths such as synagogues, mosques, churches or Hindu temples.

Kerala has also been known as the Land of Spices. It attracted merchants and explorers from all over the world in search of tea, coffee, chili, cardamom, pepper or cloves, among other products.. Even the Portuguese, Dutch or British influence still survives in this state.
