Cádiz beaches that allow dogs

Camposoto Beach

Find Cádiz beaches that allow dogs It is more or less simple depending on the time of year. Outside of the summer season, which normally runs from June XNUMX to September XNUMX, almost all of them allow you to enter with your pet.

However, within the indicated dates, as they are the ones with the highest tourist influx, dogs are only accepted in two of the sandy areas of the province. In case you plan to travel to the Costa de la Luz, the name given to the people from Cádiz and Huelva, with your pet, we are going to show you the beaches of Cádiz that allow dogs.

Camposoto Beach

One of the bunkers on Camposoto beach

This sandy area is located in the municipality of San Fernando and extends between the Punta del Boquerón, in front of Chiclana, and Torregorda, which already belongs to the council of Cádiz. Therefore, it is about six kilometers long, which means that your dog will be able to run freely, although not all of it is available for animals, as we will see. Until not long ago it was an army firing range. In fact, you can still see on it two small bunkers and remains of some coastal batteries.

But, for the subject at hand, it is more important that you know that it is integrated into the Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park. This impressive protected space of more than ten thousand hectares includes other areas of great beauty through which you can also walk with your pet. For example, marshes, pine forests or scrub areas.

But, returning to Camposoto beach, it has obtained the distinction of Blue flag, which the European Union delivers to the best-kept sandbanks. The area arranged for dogs measures about two kilometers and extends between Punta del Boquerón and access number eight. However, as in other beaches, if you want to go to this one with your pet, you will have to comply with several rules.

Among them, keeping the animal on a leash and muzzle in case it is of a breed considered dangerous, not allowing it to enter the water and pick up its droppings. However, unless it is one of those breeds, it may be free in the area delimited with fences for it.

La Concha, one of the beaches in Cádiz that allow dogs

Playa de la Concha

La Concha is also one of the beaches in Cádiz that allow dogs

This sandy area is located north of the city of Algeciras. It is also known as El Rinconcillo and is approximately eight kilometers long. However, it presents two well differentiated parts. The first is surrounded by the marshes of the Palomares River and is virgin. For its part, the second, which is the one that concerns us, extends from the so-called Concha to the neighborhood of El Rinconcillo, which gives it its name. You also have a small promenade with bars and restaurants.

To get to this area you have to take Avenida Virgen del Carmen. Then you continue along the road that takes you to the neighborhood and continue along Algeciras street until you reach the car park. The rest of the way, you will have to do it on foot. As for its schedules, in summer it remains open for pets between the hours 7,30 and 21, while, in winter, you can wear it all day.

However, it also requires some Rules for you to bring your dog. If it is a dangerous breed, it will have to remain on a leash and muzzle. Likewise, they must be accompanied at all times by you. Likewise, you will not be able to leave the designated area for pets and you will have to pick up their droppings. Finally, the animal must be registered, have a microchip, have been dewormed and have all vaccinations up to date. To prove it, you must carry the documentation of the animal.

On the other hand, as we said, there are other beaches in Cádiz that allow dogs, although only out of summer season. In case you visit the province with your pet in spring, autumn or winter, we are going to talk to you about them too.

Beaches of Barbate

Peppermint Sand

Peppermint Beach

The vast majority of the sandbanks in this municipality allow dogs between September XNUMX and June XNUMX of the following year. Among those that mark its coasts, dominated by the spectacular cliffs of La Breña and Cape Trafalgar, are those of Mangueta, the Cañillo or Pajares.

However, one of the most impressive beaches that you can take your dog to is the mint one. It is also known as El Chorro due to the water that flows precisely from the nearby cliffs. It is semi-virgin, although it has parking and litter bins, and is also surrounded by a stone pine forest.

You have two ways to get to it. If you travel by car, the main access is at the end of the port of Barbate, where the A-2233 road that leads to The Caños de Meca. It is an urban sandbank that measures around eight hundred meters in length and twenty in width and that has all the services. In addition, it is framed by a promenade and borders to the east with the town's port.

Chipiona beaches

Arenal de Montijo

Montijo Beach-Niño de Oro

The Chipiona sandbanks have the particularity of having a more restrictive calendar for pets than other beaches in the province. Specifically, you can only take your dog to run for them between November 27 and February XNUMX. Perhaps this is due to the fact that visitors bathe during a large part of the year in its waters because they are rich in iodine.

As it happened in the previous cases, many of Chipiona's sandy areas offer you the guarantee of having obtained Blue flag. This is the case, for example, of those of Cruz del Mar, Regla or Camarón. However, two of the most visited beaches by pet owners are those of Montijo-Niño de Oro and especially three stones.

As for the latter, perhaps it is because of its length of almost two and a half kilometers and its golden sands. Likewise, it is surrounded by a beautiful cordon of dunes in which the chameleon inhabits. In case you go at night, you will be able to see the beautiful Sanctuary of Our Lady of Regla illuminated. But, above all, we advise you to observe something curious.

When the tide is low, a true natural monument is exposed. It's about the calls fishing pens, which were an ancient natural method of fish capture. Among them, you can see those of Canaleta, Mariño and, precisely, Camarón.

It has dimensions of almost nine hundred meters in length by more than one hundred in width. Due to its location, it is one of the busiest in summer and has all the services. On the other hand, we advise you to take your dog at sunset, since Los Bateles offers you wonderful sunsets. By the way, we also recommend that you visit Conil in May. It is when the curious "levantá" of the tuna trap. And, in addition, there are gastronomic days starring this delicious fish.
