One of the countries in the world where the practice of nudism is most widespread and accepted is Germany. There they call it Freikörperkultur (FKK), the "culture of the free body". So much so that, now that the good weather is approaching, Munich has six green spaces within its urban area for nudists.

To the north of the state of Schleswig-Holstein, the northernmost state in Germany, is the charming town of Flensburg, at the bottom of a Baltic fjord. A German city but with a Danish soul. In fact, the border with Denmark is only a couple of kilometers away and on its streets the language and traditions of this Scandinavian country are present everywhere.

The German town of Kromlau is home to a park with a unique Gothic-style stone construction, known as the Devil's Bridge.

It's called Zum Roten Bären (the Red Bear) and it's the oldest hotel in Europe. It is housed in a charming old building in the center of Freiburg, the capital of the Black Forest in Germany. It was built in 1311, so it has seven centuries of experience. Listed as a 4-star hotel, its owners prefer to call it "the oldest inn in Germany".

Everyone knows the story: a donkey, a dog, a cat and a rooster were going to be slaughtered on their respective farms for being old and useless, so they escaped and set out to travel the world making a living as musicians. They are the Bremen Town Musicians (die Bremer Stadtmusikanten), characters from the popular tale of the Brothers Grimm who, of course, have their own statue in this German city.
